Approach / How we work
Data-informed. Human‑led.
Lucky Lemon brings together sensory design, neuroscience-informed thinking and creative direction. Machine-learning recommendations help us explore possibilities; human expertise shapes the experience.
A starting point for a sensory world.
Our approach uses publicly available datasets concerning scent, flavour, emotion and perception to explore associations and possible sensory pairings.
These relationships inform a creative exploration of olfactory notes, musical energy, colour, lighting and visual language. Some connections come from data; others emerge through interpretation and experimentation.
Process
From a brief to possibilities.
A project begins with its context: music, audience, space, timing, brand identity and the atmosphere we want to explore.
Our recommendation process suggests possible sensory directions to investigate. These might include scent families, colour palettes, lighting qualities or visual characteristics, depending on the available evidence and the system's capabilities.

Testing and experience feed back into curation — the process is iterative.
The output is never the final answer.
Recommendations are interpreted, tested and refined through perfumery knowledge, creative direction and experimentation in the intended setting.
We consider cultural context, personal associations and practical delivery. The goal is a coherent experience shaped around the project.

Neuroscents
Scent and perception.
Neuroscents is our neuroscience-informed exploration of scent and perception. It draws on research into how smell connects with memory and attention to inform how we develop scent concepts and pair them with image, light and sound.
It guides our creative choices. People experience scent differently, so we don't promise fixed emotional or behavioural effects—we design thoughtfully and test in the setting where possible.
